I use computers since 32 years and the default controls in the games are still always useless. Right click as primary shoot? I use always the left click. Left mouse button is the primary button, the right one is just the secondary. Why would I use the secondary button as a primary shooting button? Where is the logic here?

left click is primary fire and right click is secondary fire. I just confused my left and right when writing the description but the controls are the same as every other game. the description should be fixed now

it's really cool, but it would also improve the look if you made the walls less shiny.

This is actually really cool

Hey, would you mind if somone ripped assets from this to see if one can recreate this in actual Doom? Could be cool to compare them.

Anyway, so bug reports:

1. I straight up don't know how to get past the blade trap. In the actual game you do it by crouching... but you can't crouch here. And it just kills me. What do I do? I assumed I have to shoot it, but that doesn't work. Is it a timing thing?

2. Before the blade trap, in the outdoor arae with the headcrab missile, on the opposite wall from the entrance - if I touch it, zombies can hit me through the wall.

3. Even earlier, I gibbed an enemy by tossing a fuel barrel at it. But then, from the explosion a gas tank exploded...  and the gibbed zombie came back to wholeness to burn alive from the gas.

4. In the online version, if I move the mouse at all to the right, it will keep moving slowly to the right. I have to constantly aim left to reset it. This does not happen in standalone windows download.

Further:

5. Settings don't save between runs.

6. I realized you can interact with certain objects with E. But there is nothing that really makes it clear? Maybe you could put huge wall switches like the ones in Doom. Or even lift a texture from Half Life 1 or 2 - the elevator buttons maybe?

7. You cannot hit enemies that aren't activated. Bullets straight up don't work and do grey puffs like on dead objects. You need to  first activate them to be able to kill them, which is weird.

8. There doesn't appear to be vertical autoaim. This is a key feature of Doom - because you can't aim up or down, the game aims up or down for you. If enemy (or anything damagable like explosive barrel) is anywhere in middle line of the screen, the game will automatically aim at them. This doesn't have that, which makes climbing stairs very precarious since I can't use explosive barrels to clear out high enemies.

9. Not really a glitch, but maybe hitting enemy with saws from gravity gun could be more satisfying? You have programmed gibbing - maybe just make it deal enough damage to gib basic zombies?

1. Just click e

2.yea I completely missed that and it should be an easy fix and I will update that ASAP

3.thats just a visual bug the enemy stays dead.

4.cant really do much about that that's a thing with webgl 3d games

5.im pretty sure they do, atleast they do for me ill have to look into that more

6.yea I should've made a little tutorial I just assumed everyone that played this played hl2 so I used the same control scheme.

7.yes this is another bug that I assume is taking place in the right room of the main open area of the level which is another issue with activation colliders that is a really quick easy fix that I completely missed.

8. Very valid I should've added auto aim

9.I think a sound effect could've gone a long way there to make that satisfying but I could just gib them tbh.

I'll release a patch note within a week or 2 cause I'm away from my pc ATM that fixes the clipping and activation collider bugs. I'll probably also add a prompt to click e near the saw and add gibbing with the saw. Vertical aiming tho probably not just because I want to move onto newer projects sooner than later

Cool! Looking forward to your future projects. I'm following you here and on youtube so I will be sure to check it out!

Okay, one advantage of not doing it in Doom - GZDoom  doesn't support an online embed, lol. (There is an online version of Doom, but it's much more vanilla and less advanced). Great stuff!

This was so awesome to play. I hope More will come I would love to see other chapters done like this!

Browser version keeps my angle of vision turning right indefinitely. Otherwise very cool try!

How do I pass the segments I need to crouch for?

You just tap e to stop the blades there is no need to crouch

still better than project borealis

What did you do to the revolver???? It can barely kill a headcrab. Also i was really confused when i took damage. It's like if i took damage from nothing. But definitely a interesting idea. And it definitely looks funny so yeah go play it.

The saw trap still kills you even though its turned off, and there is no save game so i have to restart from the beginning

That are the zombies that can hit you through walls.

Awesome, this is such a well optimized and polished game!
